Can we replace/merge this page with Category:Checksum_algorithms - this page has more algorithms listed, but the category seems to have more working links to articles.

The redirect

This page used to contain a list of the following algorithms

Adler-32, BSD checksum, Cksum, CRC16, CRC32, CRC32 mpeg2, Haval, MD2, MD4, MD4sum, MD5, Rmd128, Rmd160, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, Sum 8, Sum 16, Sum 24, Sum 32, Sysvsum, Tiger, Whirlpool, Xor 8

Every one of those which has a wikipedia article, has a cateory tag in either Category:Checksum_algorithms or Category:Cryptographic_hash_functions. Both of those categories seem to be more up-to-date than the list, and with more working links.

I've put a note on Category:Checksum_algorithms to say that Category:Cryptographic_hash_functions contains more similar algorithms. We might want to do vice-versa (mentioning checksums in crypto-hashes category) but I believe the information in this page is completely preserved in those two categories, hence my reasoning for putting in the redirect tag.
