Explicit algorithm for "Better choice of t"

The algorithm given in Draft:Knuth–Eve algorithm#Better choice of t is original work. I know original research is not allowed on Wikipedia. But, it might be useful for people implementing this algorithm to have this explicit procedure for choosing . Should I delete it anyway? Ammar Ratnani (talk) 00:00, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Who is James Eve?

I found the following links about James Eve. The first one is definitely him. I'm not sure about the rest.

I don't think he is notable enough to have his own page. Where should I put these links? Ammar Ratnani (talk) 21:52, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh just saw this, sorry!
I agree not notable enough for his own article.
I would just cite the ACM DL one in the page when we give the author's real name. It seems ACM has him tied to the 1964 publication. Then, we don't need to use LinkedIn or the other ones. Caleb Stanford (talk) 22:21, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We could include it as a footnote, like {{refn|group=Note|Article published under the name J. Eve, which is associated with the name James Eve by the ACM Digital Library(cite).}} Caleb Stanford (talk) 22:23, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will go ahead and do this now. Edit pending... Caleb Stanford (talk) 22:27, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Comments left by AfC reviewers

  • Comment: Likely notable, but do we know who "J. Eve" is? It isn't mentioned in the lead or body, and it should be covered. Please also add more inline citations to all uncited content. There are no citations in the "Preprocessing step" section for example. Caleb Stanford (talk) 16:21, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
