The J-aggregate page is an excellent addition to Wikipedia; this page is a great start. I'd be interested to see more in the coming weeks/months on the following (either added by someone else or myself, time permitting):

  • relevance to other systems with similar physics--e.g. biological light harvesting complexes. For me, this is an important argument to justify basic scientific investigations on J-aggregates.
  • applications of J-aggregates to film photography and perhaps other potential applications.
  • brief summaries of active research areas, including theoretical and optical investigations.
  • the macromolecular structure of J-aggregates, e.g. as compared to the coherence length observed from optical characterization. The sentences on cryo-TEM are a great start.

Hi, I'm new here and a graduate student researcher studying PIC J-aggregate formation on DNA scaffolds. I wanted to contribute and I think I could make a nice contribution to the page. I'm still learning the Wikipedia format and methods so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. I've added a short two sentence contribution citing a popular paper from the field as a test run.

I am planning to come back and add more soon.

Thanks !
