One of the great hidden stupidities of US medicine is that the currently used CPT coding system is copyrighted and privately held by the AMA. Is ICD-10-PCS at least public domain? That's an important question because the rights nature of the CPT grossly distorts the market making US medical price comparison difficult. TMLutas (talk) 15:55, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS are maintained by CMS, which is a federal agency. Therefore they are in public domain. -Mys_721tx (talk) 06:26, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
