Channel-to-Channel Adapter?

I found a reference to a channel-to-channel adapter on the System/360 Model 25 in the FETOM page 4-2. It appears on a list of 2025 capabilities that are not used in 1400 emulation mode. I wonder if it might be a feature that was considered but never implemented. John Sauter (talk) 19:23, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2540 emulation mode

I found a reference for this, but it's not clear if this was a feature of the 2025 processor or of the 2560. The sales manual might help. Peter Flass (talk) 03:18, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

3890 Control Unit

The 360/25 was used as the Control Unit for the 3890 Document Processor. It would be worth adding this fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AVandewerdt (talkcontribs) 11:13, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It would be worth adding if it could be established as a fact. I was unable to locate a reliable source for this fact. John Sauter (talk) 16:28, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree we need to get an authoritative source, but given the age and the fact that IBM was not so open about this, its proving hard work... but I am digging. What is interesting is that IBM was shipping new build 3890 A/Bs till 1988... and they were still under maintenance in the 2000s. They might be the longest lived S/360s in the family both from manufacturing and from production user operation. AVandewerdt (talk) 23:17, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
