How about changing titles of other articles to the form of Animal (elephant)? :-) Mikkalai 15:13, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I'm not sure I follow. An elephant is a particular type of animal. An L-function is not a particular type of functional equation; the functional equation is an object (roughly) that is attached to every L-function, allowed its domain of definition to be extended.
I was not aware that "functional equation" had any other meaning besides the number theory one. If the other meaning is widespread and important, I think a disambig page should be given. There will likely be as many links coming to this page as to any other titled "functional equation". Revolver 19:50, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hah ... if you thought the operator page discussion was arduous, just wait until we try to get functional equation into shape! I did some digging today (see Talk:functional equation), and it's clearly a challenge.
