I didn't realize a prior attempt by 4throck had been blanked a couple years ago by Onel5969 on the grounds that the redirect target covered it better. I have made my own attempt at an article here. There are several books and publications which mention XGA, and I do not think it is covered adequately at Graphics display resolution#XGA. I've tried to provide good information on how this is different from an 8514/A. I think it is a historically important GPU deserving and article and that this should be here. —DIYeditor (talk) 03:27, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If there is any question, check what links here... —DIYeditor (talk) 10:19, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious

Looks like XGA-2 not XGA

The photo captioned XGA actually looks like a different variant of the XGA-2 than the one pictured below it. This is what an XGA should look like I believe. @Drahtlos: this is your picture are you positive it is an XGA? —DIYeditor (talk) 14:37, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah see also this. Shows quite a different board layout with the sockets for RAM expansion, while XGA-2 came standard will fully populated VRAM. —DIYeditor (talk) 14:43, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It said "XGA" on the card - that is all I know, I'm not an expert otherwise... Drahtlos (talk) 20:52, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha. I determined that it is an XGA-2 and updated the article. Thanks. —DIYeditor (talk) 22:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
