Challenging sentence

Here's a single sentence from the article expanded out in bullet form:

Research of DSC using the ISO/IEC 29170 interleaved protocol

  • in which an uncompressed reference image is presented side by side
  • with a rapidly alternating sequence of
    • compressed test image
    • uncompressed reference image
  • performed with various types of images
    • people
    • natural and man-made scenery
    • text
    • known challenging imagery

shows that

  • for most images

DSC satisfies the standard's criterion for visually lossless performance

  • although
    • in some trials

participants were able to detect the presence of compression

  • on certain images

That's too much to pack into one sentence, IMO. — MaxEnt 14:24, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So what compression Ratio is possible with DSC?

At the end: What compression ratio is possible? For example with DSC and Displayport 2.1 ? Is 8k 240Hz possible with DP 2.1 and DSC (on 10Bit with 4:4:4)? What is maximum for DP 2.1 with DSC on these Settings ?

Second: It's "visually lossless". Ok, it is described, what that means. But not clear enough. I mean, i guess, on a higher compression ratio, it's more visible than on low ratios. So for what compression ratio is this 75% claim ? 2A02:1210:8CF9:D100:D9A5:FB86:AC84:9418 (talk) 15:16, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
