Public Domain

Does anyone have info on whether the later versions, i.e. 1.14-1.17.2 were also released to public domain? Dalrymple 21:44, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1.17's source still exists: http://twitpic.com/60pwxf however finding a machine to read the disk on is a bit of a challenge. 74.123.251.247 (talk) 11:46, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"It succeeded the Chippewa Operating System"

I did some restructuring to the lead to make the opening more about what the OS did (ran on Crays) than what OS it succeeded. I think there's still a nuance here: can it really be considered to be the "successor" to Chippewa OS, when both the OS and the systems it ran on were from a different company? Would "it was derived from" be more accurate?--NapoliRoma (talk) 22:35, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
