Cosine Error Effect with Dial Indicators

There is a similarly named problem with dial indicators. If a dial indicator angle is large enough relative to the angle it's supposed to be used at (typically 0 degrees to the surface of interest), then cosine error will be introduced. From a trigonometric perspective, I imagine it is probably similar to the problem with lidar or radar. Maybe they should both be included in this article when it is expanded. -Furicorn (talk) 07:22, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
