Proposed deletion

I've called for this page to be deleted because "Collaborative software development model" is simply not a term of art in the software development profession or academic literature. If anyone knows how to notify users who have worked on this page or relevant groups, please help. There's a suggestion to "notify" in the deletion header but it's not clear what to do with it, or how to actually notify anyone. @Paulralph: You should post notification (subst:Proposed deletion notify|Name of page tag) on the talkpage of creator/editor with significant contributions of this article. See WP:PROD for more info. However, editor in question (Gronky) didn´t edit since 2015, so this all is only a formality. Pavlor (talk) 09:31, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

I think this article needs to have its scope clarified. People who have contributed to it seem to have two different versions in mind:

  • The article as written focuses on Crowdsourcing or Open collaboration as applied to software development, with large numbers of developers scrutinising changes and bugs. This has the problem that there don't seem to be many sources which discuss this, at least not under that name.
  • The rationale for contesting the proposed deletion discussed the large number of hits for "collaborative software development". However virtually all of these discuss collaborative software development in the much broader sense of software development involving two or more people working together.

Neither of these is very satisfactory, the first one doesn't appear to be in keeping with the sources and the second one isn't terribly interesting as a distinct paradigm, as virtually all software development involves multiple people and is therefore collaborative. If we can't resolve this I think the article will need to be deleted. Hut 8.5 11:54, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. I requested undeletion without access to the article content, but I think redirecting the article to Software development would be the best choice at this time. — Newslinger talk 12:53, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
