Merge instead of delete?

I'd like to suggest a page merge/redirect to C-terminal end rather than deletion. I would actually prefer the title C-terminus as main article (which currently redirects to C-terminal end) as C-terminus appears to be the most common form out of the three in scientific literature on PubMed. There's potential for content expansion, e.g. there are C-terminal signals and mechanisms common to groups of proteins (ER retrieval signals (KDEL), GPI anchors and C-terminal prenylation for post-translational membrane insertion, for example). Similar for N-terminus (currently redirecting to N-terminal end): Many intracellular targeting signals (e.g. chloroplast and mitochondrial targeting, ER/secretory pathway) are N-terminal signals, so there's certainly the possibility to expand these pages with additional information on common mechanisms. - tameeria 05:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
