Mostly wrong

This article contains many errors and approximations.

  • VA does not simulate the circuitry, but the global sound generation (some synths are supposed to emulate circuitry: Roland ACB?).
  • VA is not more reliable but more stable and predictable (which is not always better).
  • VA synths are also constrained by the electronic circuitry. Some VA synths contain one chip per voice (Alesis Ion/Micron).
  • Many analog synths provide patch storage and MIDI capabilities.
