Proposals, December 2020
Please check how many articles qualify for a stub type before proposing it.
NEW PROPOSALS
Spilomelinae stubs
Currently our largest category. Giving this a good look through I have found only 1 genus that would be suitable for a category and template as there are 79 articles:
However I did also find a number of tribes that do not have permcats but based on the information in the articles and a count of the stub category would yield 60+ articles, that would bring this down a bit further and given that most of the splits are by tribe I would also like to propose the following:
- Agroterini stubs {{Agroterini-stub}}
- Asciodini stubs {{Asciodini-stub}}
- Lineodini stubs {{Lineodini-stub}}
- Margaroniini stubs {{Margaroniini-stub}}
- Nomophiini stubs {{Nomophiini-stub}}
- Spilomelini stubs {{Spilomelini-stub}}
- Steniini stubs {{Steniini-stub}}
This dosen't remove it from the list but a category under 1000 is better than one over 2000. Waacstats (talk) 15:15, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Tree stubs
Oversized, over three hundred articles under Category:Rosid stubs have a {{Tree-stub}} so to cut this one down to size I suggest:

Asparagales stubs
Oversized and growing. I propose split as below, this should reduce this category dramatically:
- Amaryllidaceae stubs {{Amaryllidaceae-stub}}
- Allium stubs {{Allium-stub}} (over 500 articles)
- Asparagaceae stubs {{Asparagaceae-stub}}
- Asphodelaceae stubs {{Asphodelaceae-stub}}

United States sculpture stubs
Oversized, obvious split is by state, an initial look shows the following would all be viable reducing the category by more than half and taking it off the oversized list.
- California sculpture stubs {{California-sculpture-stub}}
- Massachusetts sculpture stubs {{Massachusetts-sculpture-stub}}
- New York (State) sculpture stubs {{NewYork-sculpture-stub}}
- Oregon sculpture stubs {{Oregon-sculpture-stub}}
- Texas sculpture stubs {{Texas-sculpture-stub}}
- Washington (state) sculpture stubs {{Washington-sculpture-stub}}

Altai Krai geography stubs
Oversized, Russian Krai's are split into districts and this one has 59 districts. I propose the following templates, those districts whose articles have been disambiguated I have done so in the templates by adding ALT (hopefully caught them all without going OTT), and those that reach 60 should get a category of the form Fooian district geography stubs or Fooian district, Altai Krai geography stubs where the template has been disambiguated:
- {{Aleysky-geo-stub}}, {{AltayskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Bayevsky-geo-stub}}, {{Biysky-geo-stub}}, {{BlagoveshchenskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Burlinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Bystroistoksky-geo-stub}}, {{Charyshsky-geo-stub}}, {{Kalmansky-geo-stub}}, {{KamenskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Khabarsky-geo-stub}}, {{Klyuchevsky-geo-stub}}, {{Kosikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{KrasnogorskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Krasnoshchyokovsky-geo-stub}}, {{Krutikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Kulundinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Kuryinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Kytmanovsky-geo-stub}}, {{Loktevsky-geo-stub}}, {{Mamontovsky-geo-stub}}, {{MikhaylovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{NemetskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Novichikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Pankrushikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{PavlovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{PervomayskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{PetropavlovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Pospelikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Rebrikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Rodinsky-geo-stub}}, {{RomanovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Rubtsovsky-geo-stub}}, {{Shelabolikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Shipunovsky-geo-stub}}, {{SmolenskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Soloneshensky-geo-stub}}, {{Soltonsky-geo-stub}}, {{SovetskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Suyetsky-geo-stub}}, {{Tabunsky-geo-stub}}, {{Talmensky-geo-stub}}, {{Togulsky-geo-stub}}, {{Topchikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{Tretyakovsky-geo-stub}}, {{TroitskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Tselinny-geo-stub}}, {{Tyumentsevsky-geo-stub}}, {{UglovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Ust-Kalmansky-geo-stub}}, {{Ust-Pristansky-geo-stub}}, {{Volchikhinsky-geo-stub}}, {{YegoryevskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Yeltsovsky-geo-stub}}, {{Zalesovsky-geo-stub}}, {{Zarinsky-geo-stub}}, {{ZavyalovskyALT-geo-stub}}, {{Zmeinogorsky-geo-stub}}, {{Zonalny-geo-stub}},

Puerto Rico geography stubs
Oversized, Puerto Rico is split into 78 municipalities and no first order split. I propose we template by municipality and merge these into senatorial districts, we then have a problem with two of the municipalities that appear to be split between two districts. My thoughts are to leave these two templates upmerged to the national geo category rather than either trying to split between the districts or merging to both. Obviously we only create categories if these pass 60.

Church of England archdeacon stubs
Oversized, none of the diocese appear to have enough articles for a category but there are two provinces both of whom would have enough articles and should split the category fairly equally between the two with very few if any left over.
- Province of Cantebury archdeacon stubs {{Cantebury-archdeacon-stub}}
- Province of York archdeacon stubs {{York-archdeacon-stub}}

American state court judges
Oversized, ssuggest we split by state, If I have counted correctly the following are both viable:
- Iowa state court judges stubs {{Iowa-state-judge-stub}}
- Texas state court judges stubs {{Texas-state-judge-stub}}
This won't reduce it below 800 but it is a start. Waacstats (talk) 00:19, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
India rail transport stubs
oversized category, over 500 of the articles appear to be in Category:Express trains in India so I suggest

Australian Labor Party politician stubs
Oversized, we have already split out the federal politicians, I suggest we split by state parliament giving us the following viable categories
- Australian Labor Party members of the Parliament of New South Wales stubs {{Australia-Labor-NewSouthWales-MP-stub}}
- Australian Labor Party members of the Parliament of Queensland stubs {{Australia-Labor-Queensland-MP-stub}}
- Australian Labor Party members of the Parliament of Western Australia stubs {{Australia-Labor-WesternAustralia-MP-stub}}
- Australian Labor Party members of the Parliament of Victoria stubs {{Australia-Labor-Victoria-MP-stub}}
- Australian Labor Party members of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly stubs {{Australia-Labor-NorthernTerritory-MLA-stub}}

2020s pop song stubs
Per Category:2010s pop song stubs, Category:2000s pop song stubs, etc. (For starters, Girls Night Out (Debbie Gibson song), albeit a very non-NPOV article, would fit under that category.) Erpert blah, blah, blah... 13:30, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- Feel free to change the stub category accordingly; this is a place for proposing new stub templates and categories. Her Pegship (?) 22:10, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- I believe Erpert is proposing a new category and template along the lines of 2020s pop song stubs {{2020s-pop-song-stub}}. Assuming there are over 60 articles (which will be the case eventually) I see no reason not to have the template and the category. Waacstats (talk) 23:30, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

Valdez–Cordova Census Area, Alaska geography stubs
The Valdez–Cordova Census Area was split into the Chugach Census Area and the Copper River Census Area nearly two years ago. Since no one else has bothered all this time, I am attempting to organize content appropriately ahead of the anticipated 2020 Census reports. I'm not sure either new category would meet whatever threshold you're seeking, so any advice would be appreciated. Category:Alaska geography stubs exists as a catch-all in any event. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 06:39, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there - Currently it looks like Copper Creek stub articles add up to around 32, and Chugash only 2; if you're in the process of assigning permcats for the stub articles, I suggest we wait until that's done and then reassess the numbers. Her Pegship (?) 02:13, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Pegship:, I'm not sure how you arrived at that figure, considering that the existing Category:Valdez–Cordova Census Area, Alaska geography stubs presently contains 102 entries. In contrast to the example of Arkansas I viewed above, there was community consensus in 2016 to do away with categorization by region in the case of Alaska (see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2016 July 18#Category:Bristol Bay Borough, Alaska geography stubs). Per that consensus, if there truly isn't enough content for two separate categories, you can at least split {{ValdezCordovaAK-geo-stub}} and use Category:Alaska geography stubs to place whatever content that remains. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 23:05, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- @RadioKAOS:: I think I used PetScan, but I think I went to the wrong parent category (Geography of Unorganized Borough, Alaska by census area). I'm sure you're right. Her Pegship (?) 02:51, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
