Jean Paul Haag (5 Nov 1842 – 5 March 1906) was a Normandyn-born painter who lived and worked in his birth region and owned there a property. Jean Paul Haag's family had several painters, amongst them: his son Gaston Paul Haag
Biography
Haag was born in Elbeuf, in the Normandy, and was trained in the Ecouen School of painting L’Ecole des Peintres d’Ecouen) led by Pierre-Édouard Frère in Ecouen and in 1870 he moved to Paris and studied painting under Pierre Edouard Frère and [[Léon Dansaert]. Haag married Ernestine Juliette Confais and they had three or four children. One of his children was the painter Gaston Paul Haag.
In 1870 Jean Paul Haag took part in his first major exhibition at the Salon (Paris). He exibited the "Interieur de forge a Villiers-le-Bel" (Inside a forge workshop in Villiers-le-Bel) painting.
