Swami Parmanand Giri Ji Maharaj is permanent member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra [1], Vedant scholar,a religious leader,delivers discourses and inspires devotees to follow a spiritually balanced and righteous life. He is the one of the most popular face of Shri Ram Mandir Andolan Ayodhya.The highest title of saints has been bestowed to the Living Legend [2].He is frequently referred to simply as Yugpurush Mahamandaleshwar Swami Parmanand Giri Ji Maharaj. In the dawning of a new era on Diwali, October 26, 1935 Paramanand made his appearance into the earth.He is popular for giving Vedant talks all over the world -including in India,The United States,Canada,Russia,France and Dubai since 2000. Today in India and abroad, hundreds of thousands of people have recognized him as a Vedant scholar and enlightened being. Aside from his spiritual teachings Maharaj Ji fosters numerous social projects through the non-profit organization Akhand Param Dham [3] (APD).

Life

In his early childhood years, he was destined to become an enlightened master of this Age. He revealed early signs of spiritual maturity toward the path of renunciation. At the age of 21, he met his beloved Guru, His Holiness Swami Akhandanand [4] of the ancient order,Dashanami Sampradaya, in 1956. After completing secondary education, he received Sannyasa Diksha from His Holiness and underwent strict discipline for a period of seven years [5]. He transmits transcendental consciousness through meditation and awakening of kundalini to seekers of truth who are reaching for Self Realization.Throughout his years of selfless service, he would be given the precious title 'Yug Purush' by Osho. In year 2002, Swami Paramanand was invited [6] to the World Millennium Peace Summit of Spiritual Leaders [7] at the United Nations. He spoke to a diverse audience along with 108 saints from India. This marked the beginning of his world recognition as an influential spiritual master of this age. He travelled back to America in 2001 and visited several states and eventually Akhand Param Dham of America was established in Virginia. He extended his teachings of Vedanta to Brazil, Belgium, Canada, England, Russia, New Zealand and United States over the last eighteen years. In addition, Swami Paramanand Ji established Medical Hospitals, Academic Institutions, and Medical facilities for the disabled children and ocational Training Programs for Women. His legacy of 62 years of selfless service have impacted millions throughout India and worldwide.

Teachings

His message is simple:Know Thyself and his techniques to attaining this knowledge are as vast as the ocean. Under his guidance, many have been led to recognize the eternal divinity that resides within each and every one of us. Swami Ji tells us that we are the Ocean, but that momentarily we have forgotten who we are and think that we are an individual wave instead. We are in the process of remembering our true essence. It is through understanding and experiencing ourselves that we can reunite with our true soul consciousness and remember who we are and why we have come here. It is then that we may be the playful wave that knows it is the Ocean, and retain a deep peace within the Oneness.

Social Initiatives

Vatsalya Gram A Village of Motherly Love

Swami Parmanand has also established children's home as an alternative to orphanages. Swami's devotee, Sadhvi Rithambara, is the dynamic force overseeing this project which has now received international acclaim. Vatsalya Gram [8] is changing the lives of many former deprived children & women.

Hospitals

Akhand Param Dham has opened 5 hospitals with full modern facilities, which offer ayurevedic as well as homeopathic treatment at low or no costs.

Goshalas - Cow protection and adoption program

Swami Parmanand has set up 'Goshala' in village Sijai (Madhya Pradesh) which is shelters and pasture that serve to protect more than 500 cows that have been neglected or abused and for heritage breeds that are quickly becoming extinct.
