September - December 2019Consultation calls and meetups were held to engage existing Wikipedia communities and academic experts. Project SWASTHA started working on articles in late December 2019 after hosting in-person meeting in Mumbai which was attended by 10+ language community members. Wikipedia experts with average experience of 5+ years gathered under SWASTHA umbrella in Mumbai and decided to work on improving healthcare articles on English as well as local language Wikipedia's.
January 2020- March 2020Initial focus was on Neglected Tropical Diseases in India, Vaccination in India and Child Development in India. Articles were created specially to make sure India-specific information is available on Wikipedia. March - September 2020Focus shifted completely on Coronavirus pandemic. More members joined the project to monitor pages and major task was to remove potential misinformation. Project received great reception from India media news outlets. Major emphasis was on 'in India' articles (i.e Coronavirus in India as compared to main Coronavirus articles) Other articlesFew additional articles added to the watchlist.
