The Grand Mufti of Australia is a Sunni Muslim cleric chosen to represent and answer questions from the growing Muslim population (Abdalla, 2011). Nominated by the Australian National Imams Council, the current Grand Mufti of Australia is Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohammed, whose role lasted from 2011-2018, yet following the unfortunate death of his successor, he has resumed his former role.
