About

Jeevan Padmakumar is a well groomed, seasoned and versatile singer from Kerala. He has a very distinctive and unique voice signature with a commendable music career for a period over 10 years.

Early life

Jeevan Padmakumar’s grooming as a singer started at the age of 12. He started learning his Carnatic Music lessons under Dr. Vazhamuttam B. Chandrababu. He also got the opportunity to learn from renowned Carnatic Musicians like Dr. K. Omanakkutty Amma, Sri. Kavalam Sreekumar, etc.  Being a student he represented his school in district and state level youth festivals and won laurels. He received an award from Padmabhushan Dr. K.J Yesudas for a state level singing competition, a memory he always cherishes.

Career

In 2009, He participated in the most popular singing reality show of that era, ‘Idea Star Singer Season 4’. In 2011, he has got selected to compete in ‘Superstar the Ultimate’ which was telecasted in ‘Amrita TV’ and he made it to the semifinals.

Turning Point

Jeevan Padmakumar rose to fame as a singer when he won the very famous reality show ‘Indian Voice Season 2’ (Mazhavil Manorama) in 2013. He was one of the winners and the show was judged by Srinivas, Sujatha Mohan and Sharreth. He was also offered an opportunity to sing for Padmasree Mammootty’s movie, by the megastar himself.

Later that year Jeevan Padmakumar was introduced to playback singing by the Musical Genius Sri. Sharreth, for his Malayalam and Telugu movies. The movies and songs were critically acclaimed, and the latter won the ‘National award for best Telugu movie of 2013’ (Movie- “Na Bangaru Thalli”). In 2015 he made his Tamil debut as a singer for the movie “Ettu Thikkum Madhayanai” directed by K.S Thangasamy. The songs were composed by well known music director Manu Ramesan, son of renowned lyricist S. Ramesan Nair.

As Singer/Stage Performer

Jeevan Padmakumar has associated with leading music directors of Malayalam including Sri. Sharreth, Gopi Sunder, etc. He also has a bunch of devotional songs and independent music to his credits.

His love for stage performance earned him a reputation for being a very strong live-stage performer. He shared so many stages with extremely popular and celebrated playback singers and actors from the movie industry. Apart from touring all over South India, he has travelled over 7 countries and entertained thousands with his performance.
