The three species of zebra may all have the same mechanism of striping but a difference in timing.[1]
Camels - loss of function mutation affecting the last transmembrane domain of MC1R seems to cause cream/white color (also mentions dogs in the discussion), ASIP loss of function causes black (but not the only cause of black) [1]
