A plasma torch is a piece of metalworking equipment used for cutting thin pieces of metal very quickly and easily. They run entirely on electricity and compressed air. They produce a very hot and very localised 'cone' to cut with. Because of this they are extremely usefull for cutting sheet metal in unusual shapes. They usually don't cut deeper than 3/8's to half an inch and are quite expensive, usually at least a thousand dollars. For these reasons they are usually found in profesional welding shops and very well stocked private garages/shops. They are also small enough that a person in decent shape should be able to lift it him/herself.
