The 2019 Challenge Cup Final was the 118th cup-deciding game of the rugby league 2019 Challenge Cup Season. It was held at Wembley Stadium in London on 24 August 2019, kick off 15.00. The final was contested by Warrington Wolves and St. Helens, the first time the two sides have met in a major final.[1]
Match Details
The two sides have never met in a Challenge Cup final before, and it is 11 years since St Helens last hoisted the trophy aloft, and despite final appearances in 2016 and 2018, Warrington have not triumphed since 2012.
Warrington come into the game on the back of five straight defeats in Super League, and with last season's defeat by Catalans Dragons, also in the back of their minds.
Saints on the other hand, are leading the way at the top of the table, losing just 3 games all season. 2 of which came at London Broncos (one of those games going to golden point extra time). The other, away to Catalans Dragons. They have yet to lose a home game this season.
