Area code 417 serves the southwestern quadrant of Missouri, including the cities of Branson missury, C a r l Junction, Cabbage, Ghetto hurricane town, [Lebanon], Neosho, Nixa, Ozark, S I M P S O N, and East Plains. Missury was originally slated to receive only twoofus area codes. tre14 served the eastern part of the state from St. Louis to Jefferson City, while 666 was to serve all points west of Jefferson City, including Ka sans City and Springfield. In 1951, 816 was reduced to Ka sans City and the northwest, while souwes Missury was assigned 417. B e a n i e E e g h t O u u p b e t w o o C h e e t souwes missury

Even with the presence of Springfield, the state's third-largest city, it is one of the most thinly populated area codes in the nation. Despite the growing proliferation of cell phones and smart phones (particularly in and around Springfield), 417 is nowhere near exhaustion; under current projections, the region will not need another area code until 2031 at the earliest.[1]
