Hi all! On behalf of Citrix Systems through my work with Beutler Ink, I wanted to raise with editors a suggestion for fixing current confusion on Wikipedia regarding Citrix Workspace. There are currently two articles for Citrix Workspace (including this one):
The "Citrix Workspace" article was created in June 2019, when the XenDesktop article was moved to "Citrix Workspace". The issue is that XenDesktop actually became Citrix Virtual Desktops, not Citrix Workspace, so the content of the article is describing a different product.
This article, which was previously about Citrix Receiver, has been moved to "Citrix Workplace App". This seems to be a typo as there is no "Workplace" app. I believe this article should be about Citrix Workspace App as the product Citrix Receiver essentially became the Citrix Workspace App. With that said, this article does need some updating as it is still written in a way that it discusses the previous product, Citrix Receiver.
Although I ultimately defer to volunteer editors about the best way to clear up this confusion, I wanted to help with that as much as possible. My suggestion is to:
Make this article the Citrix Workspace article, and update the content appropriately
I have prepared a draft of what a simple Citrix Workspace article could look like based on independent, third-party sources. I've posted the draft in my user space for editors to review. Would it be appropriate to replace this article on Citrix Workspace App with a Citrix Workspace article based on my draft? My draft includes information on both Citrix Workspace and the app in one article, following what I've seen in other software articles, where the app is covered in the main software article. Your proposed Citrix Workspace draft is a good contribution but we always need to review contributions from COI editors and I will not be taking the time required to do that this morning. Perhaps another editor will be able to help with this. ~Kvng (talk) 14:45, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
