What OS runs on what hardware?

I find the article's description of the etiology of the various versions of GCOS to be hard to follow, though admittedly Bull hasn't done any favors in creating the situation. Could someone clarify which version of GCOS runs on which hardware? We could start with just the current shipping versions (7 and 8) and current hardware. Thanks.
