The Unified Font Object (UFO) is a source file format for digital fonts. It is developed by Tal Leming, Just van Rossum and Erik van Blokland[1]. According to the project's website, the format is a "future proof" format that "must be human readable and human editable"[2]. On the macOS, the UFO appears as a package; a file system directory that presents as a single file. On Windows and other operating systems, it appears to be a file system directory containing Property List files and XML files.

The font editing program RoboFont uses UFO as its only source file format[3]. Other programs, such as Glyphs[4], FontLab VI[5] and FontForge[6] can read and write the UFO format natively.
