The Linois class was a class of protected cruisers of the French Navy. The class comprised Linois, Galilée and Lavoisier.

Design

The ships of the class were 100.63 metres (330 ft 2 in) long, had a beam of 10.62 metres (34 ft 10 in), a draught of 5.44 metres (17 ft 10 in), and had a displacement of 2,285 ton. The ships were equipped with 2 shaft reciprocating engines, which were rated at 6,800 ihp (5,100 kW) and produced a top speed of 20.5 knots (38.0 km/h).

The ships had deck armour of 1.6 in (4.1 cm) and a complement 250 men. The main armament of the ships were four 14 cm (5.5 in) single turret guns. Secondary armament included two single 10 cm (3.9 in) guns and eight 4.7 cm (1.9 in) single guns.
