Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) is a department of Lockheed Martin headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, that specializes in applied research and development. Additional facilities are located in Eagan, Minnesota, Kennesaw, Georgia, and Arlington, Virginia, employing approximately 250 people in total.[1]


As of 2020, the department is pursuing research in human systems optimization, electronic warfare, robotic autonomy, and data analytics. ATL's primary research partners include DARPA, U.S. government laboratories, universities, and Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works and Advanced Technology Center.[1]

Robert Mandelbaum currently serves as Director of the Laboratories. As the Director, Robbie leads a group of applied research labs that help Lockheed Martin maintain technology dominance. ATL's current research portfolio focuses on generation-after-next technologies.

In 2019, ATL celebrated its 90th anniversary. Founded in 1929, ATL's focus is on the future, envisioning transformational technology to redefine global security.
