Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
I want to create a seperate WikiProject because I believe that this topic, Computer Programming deserves its own seperate WikiProject. On the other hand, I might just start a task force.

Support

Also, specify whether or not you would join the project.

Questions

Why is too big and too general a problem? Most of these existing projects are pretty quiet. There doesn't seem to be a risk of computer programming initiatives getting buried in the noise if you bring them. ~Kvng (talk) 13:16, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'll just start a task force then. -RH9 21:51, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Having recently revived a project that, despite the revival, may be too narrow in scope to maintain, I advise proposing a task force to one of the related projects. —¿philoserf? (talk) 21:35, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is now a task force of WikiProject Computing -RH9 00:57, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
