The 'Directive on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications was adopted by the EU in 2016. [2] This only applies to public sector bodies, but the member states of the EU needed to turn this legislation into national law by 2018. The goal was to ensure that all public sector organizations were accessible for persons with disabilities.
