Could the first two lines be combined into one?

Currently this template produces two whole lines above the templatedata table, which is kind of a waste of vertical space and a bit distracting. Would anyone have any objections to the two being merged into one line, like this? Many thanks, User:GKFXtalk 00:03, 16 February 2018 (UTC).[reply]

 Done, as no objections. User:GKFXtalk 17:08, 18 February 2018 (UTC).[reply]

Needs addition of TemplateWizard and other clarifications

The current text

"This is the TemplateData documentation for this template used by VisualEditor and other tools; {{Template error report|lc=yes}}
TemplateData for Example"

is poor for several reasons.

  1. It needs addition of TemplateWizard, because the default source editor has had TemplateData capability through it since April 2019. The 2017 wikitext editor could also do with being an optional addition (beta feature with 60,000 users).
  2. TemplateData documentation isn't used by those tools; the TemplateData itself is. The purpose of TemplateData could do with being stated too, as well as the fact that the template has TemplateData at all.
  3. {{Template error report}} should be placed back on its new line, as it's completely separate from TemplateData.
  4. The heading level of "TemplateData for Example" is disorienting, because it's not in line with the surrounding heading levels, and the very next heading (that of the TemplateData table) is of the same size and appearance. It should be of a level 2 heading size (though not such that it enters the table of contents).

I've added a new version to the sandbox, which you can view in the testcases page. It adds a few clarifications and enables a few optional parameters for additional information.

Please let me know what you think.
