Collared mongoose range |
The collared mongoose (Herpestes semitorquatus) is a mongoose species in the family Herpestidae native to Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Their pelage is typically either brown or reddish-brown. It has also been recorded that some of the pelage has been seen to be in some individual mongoose that is reddish-orange, yet it has only been recorded in Sabah which is a Malaysian state.
With the collected information it was recorded that there were 117 occurrences from all the regions not including Brunei and South Kalimantan.
