SQL Mobile (full name Microsoft SQL Server Mobile Edition) is a compact relational database produced by Microsoft for applications that run on mobile devices. SQL Mobile provides a development model and API consistent with Microsoft SQL Server.

The previous version of SQL Mobile was called SQL Server CE.

A follow-up, called SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition, is available since June 2006 as a CTP (Community Technology Preview)[1].
