I have created this page to document expected changes as we transition the main page to a new design. cc User:Xaosflux and User:Isarra Jdlrobson (talk) 05:46, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Xaosflux from what I am reading editors expect Vector and Monobook to not behave in a responsive manner. For a next iteration I suggest that the stacking is limited to Minerva and Timeless which are specifically responsive skins. There is a clear association with desktop site meaning device rather than screen resolution - changing that understanding seems like it is a big culture shift. This is obviously a disappointing outcome but if editors are not happy with any kind of stacking on the main page I don't see how else to do this.Jdlrobson (talk) 23:38, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We should get it open for discussion, while there were indeed some objections - it is possible they are in the minority. The biggest deal is really that readers on desktop use Vector - so this could be a big win for them. — xaosflux Talk 23:42, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
