Everyone is cordially invited to attend a Wikipedia Day edit-a-thon, in Downtown San Diego. This should be the 50th Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.

Meetup details

Granting permission to use library facilities does not constitute endorsement by the San Diego Public Library, the Board of Library Commissioners, or the City of San Diego. No advertisement or announcement implying such endorsement is permitted, unless written permission to do so has been previously given by the Library.
— San Diego Public Library Meeting Room Policies

We would like to thank San Diego Public Library for assisting us in ensuring this event can be held. We will be serving a cake, and refreshments, during the event (until supplies run out), as a way to celebrate the 19th anniversary of Wikipedia's beginnings (which occurred in San Diego), and to provide nourishment to attendees in order to fuel their activities to improve/create content on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects.

Getting there

San Diego Central library is located in East Village, San Diego, and west of Interstate 5. It is encouraged that attendees plan in advance as parking underneath the library is not guaranteed. It is also northeast of the 12th & Imperial Transit Center, making it accessible to multiple San Diego Metropolitan Transit System options.

Internal location

  • We shall be in the Walter J. and Betty C. Zable Foundation Computer Lab, on the 4th floor
    • Wifi will be available for those bringing their own laptops (required for editing within the meeting room).
  • After the edit-a-thon we will be serving cake, and refreshments, on the 9th floor (may be subject to change) on one of its three terraces
