THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology is an engineering college in Bhagirathipuram, Tehri, Uttarakhand. The institute was established in August 2011.

THDC-IHET has initiated the THDC-IHET Research and Development Center to promote renewable energy innovation by teams of scientists and engineers from the institute and any other institutes affiliated to UTU.[citation needed]

The institute has received the award for "Excellent Institute for Promoting Hydropower in Uttarakhand" in the second National Uttarakhand Education Summit & Awards 2015 by CMAI Association of India.[citation needed]

About

THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology was established in the 2011 and is located in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The Institute offers the B.Tech course under 5 branches viz. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics and Communication and Computer Science at the undergraduate level.

THDC Institue Of Hydropower Engineering And Technology was established in 2011. The institute has successfully worked in many Hydro-Projects like Koteshwar Power Plant in 2011 and 1000 MW Tehri Project.

  • It is run as a Constituent College of the Uttarakhand Technical University
  • The institute is placed at B. Puram, Tehri, and approx. 150 km from capital city – Dehradun on stunning site of THDC project
  • The UG program allows students to know-how first-hand, challenges and the joys of research knowledge.

THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology Tehri (THDC-IHET Tehri), Constituent Institute of Uttarakhand Technical University Dehradun, has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Arba Minch Institute of Technology, Arba Minch University (AMU), Arba Minch, Ethiopia on Jan 3, 2016 at Vice Chancellor Office, UTU, Dehradun.

THDC-IHET has become the first constituent institute that signed an MOU with the foreign University for the future expansion of the students’ academic endeavour.
