Wikipedia:Don't use MySpace as a source

Use great caution in using MySpace (Or other similar social networking sites) as a source:

There's no requirement of factuality: Anyone can make claims on the most tenuous grounds. As with anything else, reliable, verifiable sources are a must. Consider treating the myspace as a wiki page itself, does it cite reliable sources? Does it assert its importance or prominence? If the myspace page belongs to an individual it may well be a viable source on that individual, barring Point of view issues, but without assertions of factuality or authority backed up by evidence, for all intents and purposes it has to be considered utterly made up. This is not to say it isn't true, or can't lead you to better sources, only that without any form of sources or authority the veracity of a myspace or other social networking page cannot be trusted.
It has forums. We aren't supposed to use forums as a source.
