Most of these programs for Mozilla Firefox should also work for the Mozilla and SeaMonkey browser series.

  • wikEd, a full-featured in-browser text editor that adds enhanced text processing functions to Wikipedia and other MediaWiki edit pages. Features include wikicode syntax highlighting, regular expression search and replace, and MS Word / HTML to wikicode conversion.
  • Comfortable editing functions
  • Wikipedia Mashup - embeds links on any web page (even outside Wikipedia) to more commonly read Wikipedia articles. Includes the MashLogic platform for running other kinds of mashups.
  • FoxClocks - the FoxClocks extension allows you to have one or more customized clocks displayed in the status bar or toolbar of the Firefox browser. Helpful to have one set to UTC/Wikipedia time, and/or to the time zone of frequent collaborators.
  • Gnosis - the Gnosis extension automatically analyzes the Wikipedia page you are browsing and locates people, places, companies, organizations and other entities contained on the page. Each is underlined and additional searches in Wikipedia and other resources can be launched automatically.
  • Googlepedia [1] - a Firefox extension that presents Wikipedia articles side by side with Google searches.
  • Axon - a Firefox add-on which provides access to the Wordnik dictionary and all Wikipedia articles in every language by double-clicking on a word or selecting text.
  • Picture Popups - enlarge images in place, or open them in HTML popups inside the page - no new windows opened.
  • Link Complete - auto-complete links to articles in the edit box by pressing tab or ctrl-space.
  • WikiDiff - Firefox only extension for tracking and rendering diffs of Wikipedia articles. Essentially like taking a highlighter and marking what is new since your last visit. A diff format easy for newbies. Allows you to watch pages you have visited but never originally intended to watch.
  • Wikipedia Bilingual - a Firefox extension which displays a Wikipedia article in 2 of the languages in which it is available, side by side (for example, Russian and Spanish).
