Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) is a Microsoft Azure-based system for virtualizing its Windows operating system, providing virtualized applications and remote desktops over the Internet.[1][2]

It was first announced by Microsoft in September 2018 and made generally available at the end of September 2019.[3][4]
