Mission

The Space Test and Training Range (STTR) is an space electron warfare range controlled by the Nevada Test and Training Range and operated at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. The 25th and 379th Space Range Squadrons operate and maintain the STTR. Currently, L3Harris is responsible for sustainment of the Space Range Operations Center. [1]

The STTR has deployed equipment and personnel to support combatant commander operations and large force exercises such as Austere Challenge.[2][3]

History

The space range mission was conceived by Air Force Space Command in 2001. The creation of the Space Range Management Office occurred shortly after. The responsibility of operating the STTR was transferred to the 25th Space Range Squadron on July 1, 2004.[4]
