The Elixir Aircraft Elixir is a 2010s French two-seat light-aircraft designed and built by Elixir Aircraft.[1] The aircraft conforms to the European Aviation Safety Agency Certification Standard CS-23.[2]
Design and development
The Elixir is a low-wing cantilever monoplane of all composite construction. It has a fixed tricycle landing gear and a T-tail and powered by a 100 hp (75 kW) Rotax 912iS or Rotax 915iS 140 hp (104 kW) piston-engine. The enclosed cabin has two side-by-side configuration seats. The aircraft is fitted with a BRS Ballistic parachute for use in emergencies. The aircraft is constructed from molded carbon fiber reinforced polymer, technology that was initially developed for the construction of racing sailboats. The construction method greatly reduces the parts count and thus cost, for instance the wings are molded in a single piece.[2][3]
The Elixir first flew on 31 August 2017 from La Rochelle Airport.[4]
