Hi Team,

I know that some people tried to submit an article about Kundan Srivastava and the article was rejected 3-4 times a few years before because of lack of resources.

Surbhi20, this appears to be reference bombing. Many of the sources you cite do not mention Srivastava at all, and those which do (at least on a spot check) seem only to be a name drop or brief mention. No number of mentions or name drops results in notability. The requirement is that multiple independent and reliable sources (which your top two are not) cover the subject in depth, not just mention them. That still does not seem to be the case here. If you have some sources you believe satisfy that requirement, please note two or three of those and those particular ones can be evaluated, but a bunch of passing mentions won't do the trick. Surbhi20, hi - I'm afraid that from a quick check, none of those sources look suitable to me. I've never heard of 'Celebrityborn', 'writingtipsoasis' or 'bepositive' before, but none of them look like reliable sources with reputations for fact checking to me. The name of 'popularwikibio' implies that it is UGC, so also not reliable. INVC might be a bit better, but to be honest that looks like a rehashed press release, and winning a non-notable award (we don't have an article on it, so I assume it is not notable) doesn't make the subject notable. Is there any significant coverage of him in national news media? That would be a good start. GirthSummit _(blether) 14:03, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

You can do that, but honestly, why? The title can be corrected when it is moved to mainspace and prior to that time, the title doesn't matter. There is another issue about the article, that those who evaluate it (whatever their decision) might miss. I think it's clear that Dacier's theory on the problem is notable, and it's necessary to point out that he changes the numbering of the four treatments of the 'terrible deed', though of course he rightly uses Aristotle's ranking of them. But Dacier's new numbering is on page 256 in the 1705 English volume containing his notes, while that pages jumps to 241, so Dacier's solution to the problem is on page 245 in that translation. So the page numbering in the 1705 book has this odd break, and so awkward that it's best not to mention in the article. Perhaps if some third-party report of Dacier existed then this glitch could be bypassed. But it is best to use this direct source. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that I ought to use Takeda's third-party assertion that various scholars since the 19th century have endorsed Lessing. I got that information from Takeda, and unless I cite him, then it seems to me not only plagiarism but OR. I'll add it as an extra reference to the sentence. Request to have an article created, unsure where it fits.

I've tried to figure out how to create an article myself, but to my dismay, I just don't get it.

I'd like to create an article for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. This is a benefit available to many people on Medicare/Medicaid who need assistance getting to doctors appointments.

Where is the "talk"-page on a keyword ?

The query in your title above is unclear. Articles have associated talk pages; if you mean the talk page of an article on the subject of some "keyword", you need to tell us clearly what that keyword is.

The phrase you quote above is the title of a section added in August 2018 to the Talk page of the article Silica gel, and was added by someone signing themselves Lutz Fehling, presumably yourself. The text under that section title is, frankly, incomprehensible, and contains no mention of silica gel, or any source linking silica gel and schizophrenia as a cure or otherwise.

I'm afraid you will have to restate your query more clearly before anyone here can respond to it meaningfully. (1) It seems that using the "mobile view" for smartphones makes the "talk"-page unviewable.

However, I remember my comment on the entry "Paranoid Schizophrenia" had been visible even in "mobile view"-mode.

This now has gone (that's why I said "out of order").

Adding films in which a song appears

Hello all, I have a question on articles about a song. There doesn't seem to be a standard way to add information about films in which a song appears on the article about that song. I've checked a few songs I know appeared in several movies, but could find no mention of that on their page. Are there good examples I missed, or a reason why that isn't done? It would be useful to de-orphan some articles about movies, if nothing else (looking at Blayqe on a Horse right now, an orphan with notable songs in its soundtrack). Cheers! I don't know if there's a standard format for this, but the most common approach would probably be a new level 2 header 'In popular culture' with TV, movie and maybe advert appearances below that. Although bear in mind that additions need to be sourced with reliable sources, and given that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, I'd be cautious about going onto every song and listing every film/tv show/advert that uses it. In the dim and distant early days of the 'pedia there were lots of these sections in song articles. Then WP:TRIVIA came along and many were removed. That guideline is less stringent than it used to be but there is still a general feeling that the use of the song in a film should have some degree of notability. For example the use of The Blue Danube in 2001: A Space Odyssey (film) is considered iconic while use of the Symphony No. 7 (Beethoven)#II. Allegretto in The Black Cat (1934 film) isn't. As I mentioned the attitudes about this has been fluid over the years so I am just noting what I've seen and others may feel differently about the situation. MarnetteD|Talk 16:36, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

Dear hosts, I am around a month here and i know some basic things, but i want to ask a question. I am interested in writing articles very much (i started one-this). As i am Greek, i discovered that the most articles articles about Greek automobiles company are very small, like drafts. I would like to ask if i can make this articles drafts again to improve them, and if there is an other way to do this with not disturbing mainspace wiki. Hey Enivak. You can always work on drafts in your sandbox (User:Enivak/sandbox), and then add content to the article once you're finished with it, or you can just work on the article directly. User name and article name

I created a user name and I wanted to find out if the user name is also the article name? I assumed I was creating an account and from there I can create a new article. Usernames and articles are in different spaces in Wikipedia, sort of like different folders of a computer. So, you can have both the article and the user of the same name. But you don't have to create a user of that name to create the article. You can use this account to create any number of articles in many different subjects. If you have created another account, just don't use that one. Always edit wikipedia using only one account. To create an article using this account, read the WP:Your first article as the previous answer suggested. If you still don't find a way after that, it's probably better if you focus on making edits to existing articles for a while, as that is much easier. You can also work on a new article, by writing what you want to put on the article on this page. The sandbox is your private page where you can work on articles or make other test edits. If you get enough content for the article in your sandbox, you can ask here again, and we will move it to draft and help you submit it, so that it can be published. Tia Tropicana Hello and welcome to the Teahouse. I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding as to what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a means for people to tell the world about themselves. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability(specifically in this case notable people); Wikipedia has no interest in what a subject wants to say about themselves, nor does it have an interest in furthering your career, aiding search results, or publicizing you to the world.

Writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged, as people naturally write favorably about themselves. If "your team" attempted to create an article about you, it would be a conflict of interest, and if they are being paid to do so they must declare that per the paid editing policy. If you truly meet the notability criteria, independent editors will take note of you and write about you. I would urge you to not attempt to write (or have written) an article about yourself.

Lastly, please understand that a Wikipedia article is not necessarily desirable. Any information, good or bad, can be in an article about you as long as it appears in an independent source. A page I found with mistakes.

Look, I'm just hoping someone will care and fix this, since I don't know how to do it.

1963, Donald Rusk Currey cuts down a tree. What he didn't know was that this tree was close to (and maybe exceeded) 5,000 years of age. This whole thing followed him for the rest of his life making it a noteworthy part of history since he killed one of the oldest living things we knew of at the time.

Oops, right?

The page on Donald Rusk Currey shows factual mistakes. I pointed out the mistakes (and my evidence) that I found in the Talk section of the page. I don't know how to do this responsibly so I just left a record so that hopefully someone who does knows how and cares enough to do it, can fix the page.

Any discussion is best kept on the Talk page itself, but since that Talk page has a watchlist of "less than 30" users who will be notified* of your entry there (* because they have a particular knowledge and/or interest in the article), alerting a few more by posting here was not a bad idea. You could also add the request edit template to your entry there. (I haven't done it for you because doing it yourself will teach you a useful trick.)

That said, please remember that all Editors/Users are unpaid volunteers, and at the moment it's past 2 in the morning or later in Western Eurasia so a large chunk of them are currently asleep (as I ought to be if I had any sense). Remember also that Wikipedia has no deadlines. I rewrote the section in Donald Rusk Currey to clarify the geography a bit. Pinus longaeva is the species of Bristlecone pine famous as the longest living non-clonal organism. The most famous and accessible of its forests is in the White Mountains of eastern California near Nevada (I have visited and hiked there) but the range of the species extends throughout the high peaks of Nevada and well into Utah. Currey had been working in eastern Nevada near the border with Utah. So, it should now be clear that the incident took place in Nevada, not in California. However, on virtually all actors pages, at the bottom, there is an External links section, where their website is listed and their IMDB page... both obviously not RSs. Wikipedia entries in other languages are linked via Wikidata, as above. Reliability is an issue for external links, but it's very relaxed compared to citations. (ec)Hi MHJunior21, it is difficult for everyone to get a hang of things at first. I had my first 2-3 articles speedily deleted or discussion deleted in the beginning too. The sandbox is a place for editors to make mistakes. So, unless it was something serious, they wouldn't have deleted it. The reason given was misuse of wikipedia as a web host. That means the page had no chance of becoming a Wikipedia page. For specific details, you can ask this same question to the deleting administrator at their talk page, since non-admins can't see what was in the deleted page. We have a few admins at the Teahouse. MHJunior21, I tagged the page for deletion because it looked like the kind of thing you'd see on a company's "About Our Leadership" webpage, not an encyclopedia article. Additionally, it used language which is strongly associated with promoting a subject (such as "visionary," "innovative," pretty much anything involving the phrase "providing solutions"). If someone is going to have a Wikipedia article, it needs to be neutrally worded, factual, and have reliable sources (such as newspaper coverage, and NOT blog posts or the subject's website) showing that the subject is notable. As far as I can tell, the subject you wrote about does not meet those notability requirements, so I'd recommend picking a different topic. creffett (talk) 22:32, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

@Rabbit Vet: it's kind of complicated. Images have to be uploaded either here on Wikipedia or to Wikimedia Commons before they can be used. We can't link to external images. Once we have an image here, you can insert it via wikicode: [[file:example.jpg]]. There are some tutorials and policies at Wikipedia:Images. Usually, what you want to do is use a thumbnail and add some descriptive text, so you'd use: [[file:example.jpg|thumb|this is my example]]. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:52, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Training myself to edit Wikipedia

Apologies if this question elicits a collective groan, if I have not read a post somewhere. I could do with some help

Recently I have tried with some success to edit a wikipedia page, but the more I do, the more questions it raises:

1. I started editing a page which was so full of self promotion it was inaccurate and like an advert 2. The more I edit and correct ( without full training ) the more I feel that I am being awkward, even though I am correcting inaccuracies as best I can 3. I would like to move beyond editing one page, and venture out into Wikipedia, but first I want to learn how to do this properly

Are there courses, videos, online training or otherwise I would learn for free or even pay for?

I want to be sure that when I edit something or add content, I am doing it right, being fair, and adhering to all the rules

Joking aside - we have WP:The Wikipedia Adventure - which is fairly basic, and should take about an hour, but I don't think we have an advanced tutorial.
As for "adhering to all the rules" there are so many guidelines, that I'm sure no-one knows them all, indeed, I don't think we even know how many "rules" there are.

Hello, Mydavidpaine. First, the appropriate place for a discussion on the content of an article is the talk page of that article. Secondly, Wikipedia relies on reliable published secondary sources: primary sources can be used only in limited ways, and only to provide additional detail on a matter covered in secondary sources. I'm not sure what it is you are arguing, but I can tell you that unless your interpretation of a historical text has been published in a reliable scholarly source, then Wikipedia will not take note of it. Briefly, rather than <ref> at the beginning of a ref you create a ref name, for example <ref name=Sanger2018> All the other times you want to use that ref, you enter <ref name=Sanger2018 with a backslash before the closing >. @Rabbit Vet: When you cite a book or journal, don't state the full page range of the article. Just give the page number(s) that actually support the statement youve made. If you reuse a reference you can specify different page numbers for each one with the {{rp}} template, added right after the citation. Thus, rp|437 between double curly brackets renders as ref, and you can then reuse that same ref to give, say, ref. Hope this is clear, but dont worry if not everything here makes sense immediately. @Rabbit Vet: The method suggested by Nick Moyes actually involves two templates: one for the citation itself and one for for the page number you want to cite; so, you can use WP:REFNAME and the "rp" template together. What Nick is suggesting is that you leave the |page= parameter in the citation template empty, and then add the page numbers using the "rp" template. In the "References" section, you will see only one citation for the source, but in the body of the article you will see a footnote marker for each time the source is cited followed by the page(s) being cited in parenthesis. In addition to this method, there is also another way to cite the same source multiple times using shortened footnotes, but this way is a little tricky and might not be in accordance with the already established citation style. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:23, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

What is a watchlist?

I don't understand what a watchlist is. I assumed it would show revisions made by editors that occurred on a page I added to the watchlist. I have pages on my watchlist, but when I click on Watchlist near my user name, it never shows me any "changes to pages since I last visited them," but when I go to the history of the page, many changes have occurred. Farm lenses, you might try this: go to your Preferences > Watchlist > Advanced > and select "Expand watchlist to show all changes, not just the most recent". Not too interesting, there are many options to change the editing interface, and I always select personal preferences because I use technical instruments, and I'm used to going in and setting things up for me. I had picked to only look at changes made in the last 1 days! I haven't edited for a few months. On top of that, I mixed up my watchlist and my contributions. In general you can add sources by surrounding the URL or book name with <ref>-Tags. It's often a good idea to include other information such as the access date, the title or ISBNs as well, to prevent the link from becoming useless if the website changes. Since this is really odd on large articles, certain Templates, such as Template:Cite web exist to help you. To use them, type {{Cite web and then a | separated argument list. You can also copy that from the template page (Section Usage). If you want to use an argument, find the argument name in the list and include its value after the equal sign. I will include an example here, yust show the source code to see it.

Hi Arkim123. The first thing might be to take a look at Wikipedia:Too soon and Wikipedia:Notability (people) because if you're unable to establish that Yera Lee is Wikipedia notable enough for a Wikpedia article to be written about her, adding sources is not really going to prevent the article from being deleted. Adding one source will take care of the WP:BLPPROD tag, but the article still would be unlikely to survive a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion.

The next thing to probably take a look at is Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. If by chance you have some kind of personal or professional connection to Lee, you probably shouldn't really be trying to write an article about her in the first place. If she's truly Wikipedia notable enough for an article to be written, someone completely unconnected to her most likely will someday right such an article. You can ask someone to do just that by posting a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles or you can maybe try asking for help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Korea, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Taiwan or even at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers

As for adding references to articles, it's hard to understand why your getting an error message without seeing exactly what you're trying to add. Are you following the advice given in Help:Referencing for beginners; if not, try doing what's suggested there. If you're doing what's suggested and still having problems, then there may be an issue with the link your trying to add. Start a discussion at Talk:Yera Lee and see if you can add the link there. If you can then perhaps Bonadea, myself, or another editor can figure out why your having problems. When you add the link to the article's talk page, go to the top of the page and and click "New section". Then, add a section heading in the "Subject/headline" window and then add the link and the describe the problem your having in main editing window. You can add the links as described in WP:EL#How to link. At the end of your post, please add your signature, and then click "Show preview" to check that everything OK. If they don't answer your call to dialog, I'd say you've reached a point where you can report it at WP:ANI without the admins getting mad. The user seems to be a paid editor or someone close based on the message they left at the other user's page. They seem to be acting like they OWN the page, based on that message. You can try leaving a message for COI on their talk page. But if they are not acknowledging you at all, ANI is the place to ask for help. Be sure to mention that the other user is a single purpose account only guarding that one article. If you have tried asking for dialog in the summaries, the article's talk page and the user's talk page, and you haven't violated any rules yourself, you will be heard at ANI. It is just going to re-iterate the references and not allow truth to come out? What else can justify the truth other than match with a direct experience? @AUMSat: On the other hand, everybody is inherently biased when it comes to their own experiences. We may think they are more, or less, important than an objective person who doesn't know us would, for instance. So yes, Wikipedia does rely on published sources and not on personal experience, but is of course concerned with the sources being reliable. If there is an article about you on Wikipedia, and if there are obvious factual errors (that can be checked by other persons), you can use the talk page of that article and post the code {{edit request}} followed by the details about the change(s) you want to make. I am a descendant of Gen John Floyd of Georgia. In reading about the Battle of Autossee which he led, you have a link to a Virginia "cousin Floyd" named John B. Floyd. This John B. is the wrong man. Gen John Floyd of Georgia has no middle initial, and the John B. you site was only 7 years old at the time of the battle.

Hi Sujay1803. How do you know that the image you want to use has no copyright? Unless you've created the image yourself, generally anything you find published somewhere in print or online is going to be assumed to be copyrighted unless it clearly states otherwise. If no information at all is provided about an image's copyright status, then it's best to assume that it is copyrighted. Just for reference, something created by someone else which can be freely copied (even if you purchased the work the image is being used in) doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as "free from copyright protection". In other words, you can buy a magazine, newspaper, or book but that doesn't make you the copyright holder of the content (text or images) contained in therein. You can buy a music CD or movie DVD, but that doesn't make you the copyright holder of the music or the movie. You can freely access (with paying a fee) the website of a political party, sports team or company, but that doesn't make you the copyright holder of the content found on their websites. So, you might want to take a look at c:Commons:Licensing and Wikipedia:Copyrights#Guidelines for images and other media files for more specific information about this. Blacklisted website

Hello all you super helpful people! I have another question for you. While editing the myxomatosis page, I tried to add a website reference to creative-biolabs.com and got an error message that says "Your edit was not saved because it contains a new external link to a site registered on Wikipedia's blacklist.". Interested in why this website is blacklisted I followed the links to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist but don't see the website listed there. Questions about references, citing

I stick to copyediting on here & have questions concerning an article I'd like to edit. It's titled Chup! ,about a music album. Unfortunately, it's filled with so much personal bias, that most of the article needs either reworded or deleted. I'm still learning; thanks for your patience!

QUESTION 1) My edits will significantly change the content & size of this article; are there any steps I should take before I begin, like posting on the article or author's talk-page? (I've read about "good faith", but also about edit-wars). QUESTION 2) I'm unable to get Reference #1 link to work correctly. I don't know how to fix or remove it. Is it ok to fix everything else but leave a "broken-link" template behind? QUESTION 3) Because Reference #1 link doesn't work, I'll need another source to maintain the "3 source requirement". I'm not very familiar with what constitutes a reliable source --when it comes to music-- and was surprised to see that the source used for Reference #2 was just a music selling site called "CdBaby". Does this source actually count, and if so, do other music-selling sites count as well? QUESTION 4) When it comes to citing a source during or after a sentence, If the same source is used to create content in more than one paragraph, do I place multiple inline citations/footnotes, or just place one at the end of the section, like the author did?

broke the page

Talk:Book censorship in China I followed the instructions to apply the peer review tag but it didnt work and the purge button doesn't work either. I don't want to edit this page because its apparently very controversial. should it be protected since some editors dont like any content to be changed to some articles even if it's well referenced? Hi IP 49.198.7.235. It's pretty hard to "break" a Wikipedia page and pretty much every mistake can be fixed by simply WP:UNDOING the problem edit. So, you can also self-revert your edit if you feel you accidentally created a problem. Just make sure to leave an edit summary explaining why. As for page protection, that's only really done to stop serious cases of ongoing disruption when other attempts to do so have been tried and failed; pages aren't really "locked" just to prevent certain editors from editing them. If you disagree with some of the edits being made to the article, try and follow Wikipedia:Dispute resolution and engage these other editors on the article's talk page. You can also try Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle too, but make sure you don't get caught up in any edit warring. Wikipedia is a collaborative editing project and it's OK to be WP:BOLD when you edit, but on controversial subjects it sometimes is better to be WP:CAUTIOUS. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:07, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi O'blues. It looks like the administrator who deleted your "sandbox" is CambridgeBayWeather; I cannot see your sanbox, but perhaps CambridgeBayWeather can clarify what the problem was. You can post a message at User talk:CambridgeBayWeather and ask. In general, only companies deemed to be Wikipedia notable per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) are considered OK to write an article about; moreover, articles aren't supposed to be written to promote the company, but rather only reflect the kind of significant in-depth coverage the company is receiving from reliable sources independent of the company. In other words, Wikipedia isn't really interested (for the most part) in what the company might have to say about itself, or helping the company expand its business; it's only interested in neutrally worded content (both positive and negative) which can be verified through citations to reliable sources. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:58, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

In other words, with a bit of exaggeration, it was about how wonderful the company is, not about what the company is. Please see WP:TONE for some hints on writing objective articles.

As your first article, it was probably about a company you know closely, possibly from working at it. Please read carefully a policy on WP:Conflict of interest, which requires dislosure in case you have COI. The more if the COI results from your job – then stronger requirements defined in WP:PAID policy apply.

It might also happen the company doesn't appear that important to the rest of the world as you think. Please see the general guidelines on notability: WP:N, as well as specific guidelines that apply to companies: WP:NCORP.

Hi EPICGAMER890 - I've taken a look at the article, and there are a few issues which jumped out at me.

• Some of the text is addressing the reader in the second person ("your image", "you can") - we don't do that in articles.
• There's also a little bit of WP:EDITORIALISING ("But, of course, you can still...") - try to avoid using phrases like 'of course', or 'obviously' or anything like that - just give the factual information.
• You're also using Sony's website as a source a couple of times - I'd remove that if possible, and rely purely on the independent secondary sources, per WP:RS.
• The appearance and material section seems to incorporate an external link, which isn't necessary, and a bit of possibly puffy language (pristine - is that a brand name, or a description?), and it's entirely unsourced.
• Some of the other information isn't obviously sourced, like the list price (which doesn't specify the currency - I assume that's US dollars, but could be Canadian, Australian, Singaporian...)
• I don't think the History section needs to be broken down into bullet points. You could simply say in prose that it was first produced in April 2015, and is still in production as of July 2019.
• Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I don't think the current sourcing establishes notability. This is a commercial product, so WP:CORPDEPTH guidelines for sourcing apply. The EPhotoZine source is a pretty detailed and I think goes part of the way towards establishing notability, but but require multiple such sources. The DPReview one is very short, it pretty much lists the features - I don't think that would count towards notability. I can't comment on the 'camera decisions' source, it's giving me a 404, perhaps there's a mistake with the URL? The other refs are all affiliated (Sony websites), so as it stands I don't think we've established notability. Try to find at least one more in-depth review, along the same lines as the EPhotoZine one.

Hi Suneetduggal - if you look at the edit history of the article, you'll see that another user reverted your changes. In their edit summary, they noted that all your updates were based on the university website. If that is correct, they were probably right to revert your changes - per RS, we rely on independent secondary sources over affiliated sources. If you think their revert was in error, and you have reliable secondary sources to support the changes that you want to make, you should start a discussion on the article talk page. I consider this as a meta-issue and find it appropriate to discuss. Currently, I am in a discussion at Talk:Neymar. But that's not my issue here, RFC is the place to go for that. My problem is that why are these types of issues getting covered up so often? Certainly a sexual assault allegation is not the same as a football transfer rumor, isn't it? Maybe this is a result of gender gap of registered users? I am up for open discussions. Interested articles are also up at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost, the latest edition. Editing important sections of articles

Hello, I am interested in adding to articles that have stubs within them, e.g. the plotline of a video game article being a stub. I've been working on and off to draft something to add to these sections. However, I'm not sure if I need to ask for these to be reviewed, since they'd be more substantial edits. No Bossjeff. Follow policy as best you can, in your edits. Then, be BOLD about adding them. If someone comes and reverts it or substantially modifies it, start a discussion in the page's talk page and come to a consensus on what the best version of the article is. WP:BRD cycle, that's it. That depends on who you are and what you are trying to edit- but Wikipedia does not have "profiles"; Wikipedia has articles. Information on uploading images can be found at WP:UPIMAGE. 331dot (talk) 18:47, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

I am guessing that there is an existing article about you, with an image of you. You could take a selfie, and there is a process for adding that. You may have a professional photo you want to use, but that is complicated, as the photographer probably 'owns' the photo. David notMD (talk) 19:28, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

My articles removed

I edited a page about Misandry. The two articles I mentioned had relevance to the page and I had several source links from different authors/websites etc. They were both taken down.. one for not being about misandry, the other for wp/undue.. but.. hold on.. the other articles didn't all have the word 'misandry' in them but were about the same topic and related to 'misandry' just like mine. I've checked the wiki advice pages and I seem to have ticked the boxes required.

Hi! Unfortunately, getting your edits removed by another is a normal part of building an encyclopedia which anyone can edit. Please refer to WP:BRD when that happens. In other words, yours is a question for whoever took your edits down. Ask exactly this question at the talk page of the article. The fact that 1 judge in the UK once said something that some interpret as proof of misandry places undue weight on this comment. It's the same when one scientist would say the world is flat; the fact one person argued that does not mean we should mention it in the article about the Earth. In contrast, a study done by a university (like you added) may be given significantly more weight than a comment from one judge. --MrClog (talk) 19:57, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

But the article about the judge gained anger across the spectrum, as clearly identified in the articles on several pages I put as sources. It is an example of misandry which other articles on that page highlight. It angered even the road safety advisors. If every newspaper and editor in the land who brought that miscarriage of justice up, talked about all the people and agencies who are not happy with it and highlighted the gender issue, then its a 'misandry' problem. It then went on nicely to the study in the second part, which you mention, from the University in America that found that men were not treated the same.. so it all connects. Yet that was taken down too. Thats why I put all the sources as it was such a big topic and raised many questions... and was seen as misandry. You will note that in the other posts on that page it mentions events such as the sinking of the Titanic and how men were treated differently to their detriment. How is this any different? Is that classed as misandry? I've noticed a lot of posts and edits on many pages in wiki that don't get taken down that do not mention the word that is on the title of the page (such as misandry) and that don't even have sources attached to them. Verifiable resources behind paywalls?

Hello community,

I am a new member in Wikipedia community. I am currently drafting my first article. In general, I know how references work and are required for verification. But, I am skeptical as they are behind paywalls (for e.g. NYTimes). Is there any article on Wikipedia knowledge base around choosing such articles for references? If so, can one guide me to the article?
