The term Virtuality Continuum (VC) was coined my Paul Milgram to better classify what Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality, Augmented Virtuality, Augmented Reality, and Reality displays are in relation to one another.

Ranging from the completely real through to the completely virtual, the Virtuality Continuum encompasses all possible variations, mixtures and compositions of real and virtual objects that might be presented in a display.
