"Don't Wanna Try" is a song by R&B singer Frankie J. It was released as a single in April 2003 and reached number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[1]

This song is about him and his girlfriend. His girlfriend said something that caused them to break up after four years. Frankie J then begins telling how sad he is, and how great it was, such as when he explains that they used to spend hours talking on the telephone and imagine their dream home. Then, he tells us that his girlfriend apparently realized it was a mistake leaving him. She wants to start anew with Frankie. But he doesn't, not after what she put him through. Yet, he still has feelings for her. So basically Frankie J wants this relationship to be over. He still loves her but it just won't work.[original research?]
