HVXC stands for Harmonic Vector Excitation Coding. It is speech coding algorithm used in MPEG-4 standard for very low bit rate speech coding. HVXC supports bitrates of 2 and 4 kbps.

Technology

HVXC is a parametric speech codec, which in practise means that it is optimized for speech signals only.
