- I've been doing plenty of that already, but I'll redouble my efforts! As for the vandalism, I think ClueBot NG has that pretty well taken care of!
Thanks, CrazyMinecart88 21:41, 12 December 2018 (UTC)- Re: vandalism: you’d be surprised. No need to ping me when you post on my talk page because I already get notified when you post. - Will do! As for the userbox...
Thanks, CrazyMinecart88 (talk | contribs) 21:52, 20 December 2018 (UTC)- @CrazyMinecart88: as for the userbox, you had exactly 9 (nine) edits to articles when I checked a few minutes ago. I don't know if Pythoncoder considers that to be an acceptable redoubling of your efforts, but Darth Vader would not be much impressed. MPS1992 (talk) 22:24, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- @MPS1992: Today, or total? I know I have made more mainspace edits than that!

Pepe Cash listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Pepe Cash. Since you had some involvement with the Pepe Cash redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 18:00, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Bangladesh Honda Private Limited Page Deletation
Hi, I'm Mamshad,a teenage programmer from Bangladesh. I'm very new in Wikipedia for writing articles. So, I didn't noticed copyright issues while writing this article
This page will be updated day by day and informations are collected from various sources. The official webpage is the most secured source for it. If it is a fully copied page, I'm obviously sorry in that case and I will try my level best to maintain copyrights in this page. Please don't delete this page because this is my first article in Wiki ^_^
Your Sincerely, Mamshad Shakir Islam, Dhaka, Bangladesh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamshad Shakir Islam (talk • contribs) 17:20, December 20, 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for talking to me. I see you've taken a break from Wikipedia for a while, so welcome back! I've removed the infringing text from Bangladesh Honda Private Limited to give you time to fix the article. It is in less danger of being immediately deleted now. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously but since you're a new editor it's unfair to delete the page right away in my opinion. I recommend reading Wikipedia's copyright policy. I will put a template on the page in 24 hours (more or less) telling an administrator to hide the old revisions since they are still copyright violations, but here's the link to the page that you copy-pasted so you can add back info from it in your own words: https://www.bdhonda.com/about-us/about-bhl. It's good that you're adding secondary sources as well. One more thing: please put ~~~~ after your posts. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 22:43, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

Shift4 Payments Page
Hi there,
I'm trying to get a page up about a company. You reviewed it and rejected it, and I was wondering if I could get some specific instances that need to be corrected in order to fix the problems. Here's a link to the draft page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Shift4_Payments
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul.jonah.paul (talk • contribs) 16:58, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Paul.jonah.paul: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I declined the article because of its promotional language, such as describing the company's products as "solutions". To fix this problem, you should edit the article to remove instances of the word "solution" or replace "solution" with a less vague and more neutral term like "product" or "service". (If you are using the word "Solution" as part of a product name, such as with Network Solutions, you can leave it in.) — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 13:28, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Declined
Hi,
How can I make the article less generic and like a sales pitch? I am just trying to add a page and don't want it to benefit the company or promote their product.
Any advice? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LewisSankaa (talk • contribs) 13:49, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- @LewisSankaa: Here are some of the promotional parts I found that DragonflySixtyseven removed:
- “top-tier content creators”
- “various talents throughout the world”
- “content verticals”—marketing term
- “Ritual offers tools that video content creators use to further develop their growth, combined with the ability to support influencer marketing campaigns and protect and monetise the creators assets.”—Sounds like a press release
- “ASMR content creators generate millions of views and Ritual Network helps connect them with advertisers who are looking to reach their audience through paid promotion.”—ditto
- Hope this helps. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 16:55, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

Clarity on the article marked as Advertisement
Dear Reviewer, you have recently reviewed my new article and marked it as an ad. I had read the article 2-3 times before submitting to ensure that all the information I have given are factual and backed by reputed source. Kindly, help me identify the areas which might have led to this decision.
Sagar Shah 05:42, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- Sagarshah28 — per your request, here are some nonneutral phrases I found in the draft:
- "fast-growing and popular"
- "started touching many lives with his impactful yoga practices"
- "With his excellence in service"
- They do not adhere to Wikipedia's policy requiring a neutral point of view. Also, please ensure that your signature links to your userpage or user talk page as it makes it easier for other users to communicate with you [example wiki code to copy: Sagarshah28 (talk · contribs) ]. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 14:33, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
Saudisoft
Hey Pythoncoder... referring Saudisoft page declined on Oct. 3 ... because of promotional language I know that some of the references are in Arabic does this affect the declaration or should I just enhance the content??? especially that I already have this content in Wikipedia Arabic and I'm trying to make it multilingual this is the link of my draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Saudisoft thank you Geegooo (talk) 12:25, 12 February 2019 (UTC)Geegoo
- @Geegooo: The language of the references did not affect my decision to decline your draft. References on the English Wikipedia can be in any language. I declined your draft because it contained promotional language. Specifically, its frequent description of the company as providing "solutions" made it read more like a marketing document. To fix this problem, you should edit the article to remove instances of the word "solution" or replace "solution" with a less vague and more neutral term like "product" or "service". (If you are using the word "Solution" as part of a product name, such as with Network Solutions, you can leave it in.) — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 13:24, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Pythoncoder: I enhanced the content following your advice and resubmit it again :)
hope it works this time, and thank you for your help :), please, if you can read it and tell me your opinion about it Geegooo

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I declined your G10 nomination of User:Dessiahc97/sandbox. Question?
`So, I am looking at the facts right now. I am really putting a lot of thought into this. However, I feel it might be best for the Signpost if you speak to Bri about becoming the new Editor-in-Chief. You have been extremely active for a while now, and I can't think of anyone that would be a better fit. Could you please lift this cloud we are under? Would you be willing to do it? ―MattLongCT -Talk-☖ 07:47, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

- @MattLongCT: I’ve thought about this a lot. I’m very sorry, but I just can’t do it. While I am active at this moment, I go on wikibreak a lot and overall I’m not active enough to properly run this publication. Sorry. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 03:58, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
- Dang... Do you think I should ask Evad37? My only concern there is that they made a single small edit on the humor article before publication. I really want to try to find someone as far away from that post as possible. ―MattLongCT -Talk-☖ 04:14, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
- @MattLongCT: Up to you. The edit you linked seems minor and not like a judgment on the piece’s content. I would point out that Evad was the editor-in-chief from June 2017 to March 2018 (and in fact was the person who revived the Signpost after it hadn't published since March 2017), but Bri took charge after Evad disappeared in March 2018. Unclear if these issues would show up now but just something to think about. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 15:23, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

The Signpost
Some of us have finally taken the decision to retire from The Signpost never to return - or are about to. None of these retirements are an admission of wrong-doing or under a cloud, but the bad blood and personal attacks are untenable. Nobody helping to run the magazine should be expected to go through this. I appreciate everything you have done for The Signpost over the last few months and if you believe, as Smallbones does that it's worth saving, I can't argue against it - except that nobody cared two hoots about it disappearance a year ago when I jumped in and resurrected it; you and Smallbones have my best wishes but unfortunately probably not with much support from me. I would, however, guard against encouraging newbies with little knowledge of Wikipedia, and blatant detractors of The Signpost and it editors from taking part. That said, This scandal, having spilled over multiple talk pages, ANI, MfD, and Arbcom, has had, IMO, already enough exposure and yet another article about it all in The Signpost will not change anything, will rub more salt into people's wounds, and allow even more polemic and vituperation in the comments section from people who have already had more than enough to say. Please think about it. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:58, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Please participate to the talk pages consultation
Hello
Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.
We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

Question regarding my draft: Anton Ginzburg
Hi there! I am rather new to Wikipedia and am still learning. You left a comment that the page is missing inline citations. I was wondering if you could let me know if you were referring to the artist's accomplishments (like "Public Commissions" and "Selected Solo Exhibitions") or to text such as "awarded finalist of the Festival"? When I look at other examples such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Condo, not all the exhibitions have inline citations. Thank you for your help! Antonginzburg (talk) 02:19, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Antonginzburg, Wikipedia's policy on inline citations requires inline citations in the following situations:
Type of statement | Policy requiring inline citation |
---|---|
Direct quotations | Wikipedia:Verifiability |
Any statement that has been challenged (e.g., by being removed, questioned on the talk page, or tagged with {{citation needed}} , or any similar tag)
|
Wikipedia:Verifiability |
Any statement that you believe is likely to be challenged. | Wikipedia:Verifiability |
Contentious material, whether negative, positive, or neutral, about living persons | Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons |
- The links you have for the "Publications" section are okay references (I formatted them a bit for you). You probably don't need citations for "Selected Solo Exhibitions" as that material is not likely to be contentious. Beyond that, you should also provide citations for anything that fits the criteria above. Hope this helps. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 02:39, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

If you're still interested in helping out, please let me know and we can organize something.Zenkaino lovelive (talk) 04:45, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

My article draft
Isn't one peer-reviewed scientific article enough as reference to create a new article? Oxygenic (talk) 17:52, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Oxygenic. Wikipedia’s main notability guideline says there needs to be 2 or more independent reliable sources that contain significant coverage of it. I can’t find any page that contains what you said. I have been wrong about these things many, many times before though, so if you find a page where it says that, please put a link here. Thanks, —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 22:00, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- There is at least one robust, scientifically valid article describing the entry in detail. Most Wikipedia articles don't even have 1 supporting scientific article. So I think this is more than enough. This link was added as a reference: https://academic.oup.com/database/article/doi/10.1093/database/baz046/5427041 Oxygenic (talk) 09:54, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oxygenic: Excellent. If you think it’s ready to submit, go ahead. I should note that in general, I prefer to allow another user to weigh in on drafts I declined if they are resubmitted so there can be a second opinion. —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 12:10, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

New Zealand portal
I'm glad you spotted the Commons logo as a "featured image". I came across the portal the other week and was pretty perturbed by the poorly implemented 'redesign'. Today I decided to amend the changes and saw that you had already done so. Many thanks for that! --Hazhk (talk) 10:32, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hazhk: I'm glad to help. See also WP:WikiProject Portals/Cleanup for more information. —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 15:38, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
Why are you declining E. Michael Jones page?
Explain yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.40.0.41 (talk) 14:48, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- Because its only source was a website the subject runs. All articles must have at least two (and preferably more) references to independent, reliable sources that provide significant coverage of the topic (e.g. don't just mention them in passing). —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 16:05, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- Why was the original removed which had at least three independent reliable sources? 2001:983:BBCF:1:ECD7:80EF:FB7E:2FCC (talk) 16:09, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
