Pic is a domain-specific language for specifying diagrams at a high level of abstraction, which can then be processed by a pic compiler to produce images in a more concrete format.

Pic was first implemented as preprocessor in the troff document processing system, and a version of pic is included in the groff, the GNU version troff. GNU pic can also act as a preprocessor for TeX documents.
