Campaigning

Windward Islands People's Movement

The WIPM has made "stability and continuation" their top campaign issues, citing their strong leadership over the past few years (both financial and in relations with the Netherlands).[2]

They are highlighting promises to continue fighting for economic development, a "realistic social minimum", and poverty alleviation through reduction of the cost of living and cost of doing business on Saba. To lower the cost of living, they plan to push for more "affordable transportation, energy, and telecommunications", as well as gaining more autonomy to grant work permits.[2]

WIPM held their first rally on February 20.[2]

The party list for WIPM is as follows:[3]

  1. Rolando Wilson
  2. Bruce Zagers
  3. Carl Buncamper
  4. Eviton Heyliger
  5. Vito Charles
  6. Hemmie van Xanten
  7. Esmeralda Johnson
  8. Jelle van Der Velde

Saba Labour Party

The SLP turned in their party list on 4 February 2019.[4]

The list is as follows:[5]

  1. Monique Wilson
  2. Ishmael Levenston
  3. Thaddeus Nicholson
  4. Charles Hassell
  5. Sislene Matthew

United People Movement

On February 2, 2019, Dave Levenstone announced he would be forming a new political party to contend for a seat on the Island Council. He has spent more than 40 years in government service and has frequently criticized what he sees as lack of engagement with Sabans. His slogan is "a strong voice for Saba".[6] He turned in a blank list with his name on it.[4]
