This polyhedral compound is a symmetric arrangement of a octahedron and dual, two regular polyhedra which are duals.

It has octahedral symmetry (Oh) and it has the same vertices as a rhombic dodecahedron.

It is the first stellation of the cuboctahedron, and given as Wenninger model index 43.
