Yair Lapid, 2012

The Lapidomator is a status generator of a unique text. This text was written by Yair Lapid when he served as the Finance Minister in the 33rd government of Israel, which acted in the 19th Knesset, and prior to the 19th Knesset's elections as well.[1]

History

Since the beginning of the 33rd Government, Lapid has written different statuses in Facebook, which have been looked quite similar.[2][3] There was some gap between the statuses which Lapid wrote and the work which Yesh Atid did at the Knesset.[4][5][6][7] Thus the Lapidomator was created by Yoni Rozenshein (Programming),[8] Saba Nachman (Idea and content), Asaf Sagi (Content)[9] and Lihi Karni (Logo)[10] on July 16, 2013 around 1:30 PM.[11][12] It has generated new Lapid statuses of every word, and Mako demonstrated three different statuses which were generated from the words "Lapidomator", "Yair Lapid" and "Bullshit".[13]

Rozenshein said: "We have noticed that the "Yesh Atid" party spends a lot of time on Facebook, instead of engaging in parliamentary activities. Their posts do not say anything. They are full of beautiful text and very little substance. A bit like Yair Lapid. So we decided to shorten the waiting time for Yair Lapid's new posts and simply build a site which produces them itself."[12]

The Lapidomator was covered widely in the media,[14][15][16][17][18] and continued to be active also when Lapid ceased his job as the Finance Minister. On November 7, 2018, MK Tamar Zandberg complained about the empty seats of Lapid and Ofer Shelah, which were absent during the vote upon the public transportation on Saturdays,[19][20] and the Lapidomator generated an adequate status.[21]

Until November 10, 2018, Lapidomator has generated 322,526 different posts of Yair Lapid.[22][23]

Disappointed twice: once because you are citizens of this state and it is painful to see how cynicism has taken over all the political space, and no one even pretends to care.
The second time you are disappointed because we have already felt the taste of it, we have already been at the square, have already raised a sign at the intersection, have already started the campaign.

    2. Let's talk about Yair Lapid. Yair Lapid must be dealt with. Taking care of Yair Lapid is not pleasant. I do not deny it. I believe that we have to live in a society in which Yair Lapid is important. I know other opinions in public, but these views lost the elections.
    3. I have heard several kinds of people talking about hitting the bullshit. I say it, plain and simple – I am here to take care of the bullshit. I have undertaken to lead a party in which politicians take care of the bullshit instead of worrying only about themselves and their associates.
